A la rencontre de Chloé, auteur de Kinda Break

Hello bikini addicts!

This week I went to meet Chloe for a new interview Made in Basque Country . Chloe is the creator of the blog Kinda Break , which references all the good plans of the Basque Country and Landes. Over time, Kinda Break has become much more than a blog, a real tour guide for locals as well as for people passing through the region!

About Kindabreak …

How long have you been creating Kinda Break and what made you do it?

I created the Kinda Break blog in 2013. After eight years at Surf Session as a journalist I wanted to create my own website and turn to tourism. I am passionate about the region, very curious about all the news and new trends, so I wanted to create a space for sharing and exchange on the web to make known all the people who move here. I wanted a rather personal approach with a strong artistic dimension where the photo occupies a primordial place in each of the articles.

What are the different topics on your blog?

Kinda Break is a selection of unusual and pretty addresses discovered in the Landes and the Basque Country. The idea is not to refer everything exhaustively, I put forward only real favorites that I would advise to friends passing through here. I do not limit myself in the themes, the choice is very eclectic and concerns as much women as men, teens and parents, locals and tourists. I present restaurants, shops, local products, children’s activities, walks, lodgings … Readers love the Agenda section of the Month which lists upcoming events and the Week-end section which gives ideas for getaways less than three hours away. of the region. In the section Talents I present personalities who make talk about them here. Finally,

Have you always lived in the Basque Country?

I live in the Landes for about ten years and I am from Pau. I can not conceive the region without the Basque Country or the Landes, the two complement each other perfectly and are indissociable. If I live in the Landes, I travel at least three times a week to the Basque Country for work. I like the wild, calm and the open spaces of the Landes and I love the life that swarms around Biarritz, its architecture and its strong influences. I have as many friends in the Landes as the Basque Country and question evenings, hobbies and outings I need both. I could not conceive Kinda Break without dealing with the Basque Country and Landes.

Rather sea or mountain?

Both. Summer I live to the rhythm of the ocean, feet in the sand, hair full of salt, I enjoy all the excitement around the beach. And in winter I spend all my weekends and holidays in the Pyrenees, I am passionate about skiing and snowboarding. I am lucky to have family on the side of Artouste and Gourette. It’s amazing to live in this region, where the mountains and the sea are so close.

What is your favorite place to walk around?

I like to vary the pleasures: the tour of Hossegor lake for a jogging, the marine lake of Vieux-Boucau for a bike ride, La Rhune for an exotic hike, Saint-Jean de Luz for a nice walk of the shopping streets to the tip of Sainte-Barbe by the coastal path.

To do shopping?

I have some favorite shops in Hossegor (All Good, Matouch, Bensimon, Core Zone …) and Biarritz (The Dovecote, Helder Supply, Rockmafia, Greenky …) but shopping question nothing better than to leave the day in San Sebastian!

To eat and / or to have a drink?

In Landes Minus is a must for French mussels. I will also recommend Chez Monette, Louvine and Di Dio in Soustons. In the Basque Country it is royal to be able to enjoy a meal or aperitif facing the sea. I love Exola Bibi, Surfing, Eden Rock and Kostaldea.

For you, the Basque Country is …?

An incredible diversity. Beautiful beaches all unique, mountain walks in fantastic places. A few kilometers are enough to completely change the decor and atmosphere.

And to finish…

Finally, what are your bikinis cravings for the season?

This year I fell for two bikinis: The Paradise Found at Rip Curl for its really beautiful floral print. And another at Roxy, the 70’s black top that I mixed with the black and white Surfer striped stockings, it’s a very classy and sporty set at the same time and the top really puts in value the breast with an optimal hold with the ‘water. This year we see a lot of crop top shape that cover the entire chest, I love! Billabong has released great models including Rena crochet that is just sublime. Volcom also has his crop top model, the Smoke in a super nice sand color.
